MAN WITH A GUN (1955) Breaks A Cardinal Rule For Movies

MAN WITH A GUN (1955) Breaks A Cardinal Rule For Movies.

It kills a dog. A bad guy, Ed Pinchot (Leo Gordon), shoots the barking dog while riding into town.

Heck, even JAWS 3-D knew not to have the shark kill the two trained dolphins.

You can kill all the people you want but never kill the pets.

On a different note:

I liked the downhill ride into town. Too many westerns have such flat streets.

My Sig Line:

Liberals kill with ABORTION.
Conservatives kill with the DEATH PENALTY.
I kill with THOSE and WORDS.

It bothered me, too. I have two dogs of my own. However, they made the good decision to have the dog off-camera when it dies.

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

At least Ed gets his later in the movie. The same thing happened in the Hondo movie with John Wayne when the Indian killed his dog. But at least the Indian got his later too.

Never harm children animals or females in films or in real life !

reply

Probably done for shock value.
