An enjoyable movie!

This movie was a great watch, I can't believe I haven't seen it till tonight. Both Charelton Heston and Jane Wyman seemed good together to me, and the ups and downs of the relationship could fit today's challenges for a woman who wants to have it all. Clair Trevor I adore, and any movie with her in it I'll watch. She looked beautiful, and delivered a fine performance. But what I'll admit right now is how I loved the clothes!!! Eye candy all the way through. To see Edith Head was a treat you don't get often, and that fashion show was simply divine!! I drooled all the way through it, and the closing "Texas Oil Gown" was jaw dropping! Also Thelma Ritter is another favorite of mine, another person who always gives a fine performance. I felt this movie flowed nicely and is worth the time to watch it. I've purposefully not gone into specifics of the storyline, but I liked it. Grab the popcorn and enjoy!

Thelma Ritter was a little doll in here. I'm so used to her in her usual matronly-maidish clothes -- but seeing her in those Edith Head creations at the end was wonderful.

I'm getting to like these Jane Wyman movies more & more. I found it engaging & heart warming. Mr. Heston went to Cairo to be Moses right after this movie, & turned a bit sour about the movie, after playing Moses/God.

Me too. I like Jane Wyman movies now that I've seen many more of them. The woman had a long film career. Although I had always loved Magnificent Obsession and All That Heaven Alllows, TCM' Star of the Month showcased many Wyman movies I had not seen. I have seen Lucy Gallant a few times but am still frustrated with the film's color. Is it me or does the film look faded or blown up for HDTVs?
