Was this originally in Black + White?

I saw this in a cinema in Mysore, India in 1967 & I believe it was a B/W print.
Can anyone confirm this? I am looking for an original B/W copy if so.
Any links to info and/or email addresses?

Perhaps you once saw it on a B&W television, so that's why you have it mixed up.

Black and white? Not a chance. There is no B&W original. You must be confusing it with another movie.

I saw this movie during its initial run in 1955. It was in CinemaScope (aspect ratio 2.55:1) and colour with 4-track stereophonic sound.

This isn't so crazy (ignore the people who say you're just confused), although the movie was originally in color, not B&W. However, it was common to strike black and white prints for various markets, including television and some overseas locations.
