LOVE ME TENDER theme?

Did I hear it? About half way in film when Tyrone cuts ribbon to bookmark book and various other times. Any Sam Smith/Tom Petty lawsuits resulting from that?

The melody is almost a century older than the song Love Me Tender, written in 1861. Keep in mind that the movie Love Me Tender is set during and after the Civil War when the tune was contemporary with different lyrics under the title Aura Lee or Aura Lea. West Point cadets also wrote their own Army-specific lyrics which are sung in the opening credits, and we hear the melody as background music several times in The Long Gray Line.

I can name at least two other Elvis Presley hits that used 19th Century melodies: It's Now or Never which was adapted from the 1898 Italian song O Sole Mio, and Wooden Heart, adapted from the 1827 German song Muss i' denn zum Städtele hinaus. As a matter of fact, Elvis, who first heard these two songs while stationed in Germany in the Army, recorded a version of Muss i' denn zum Städtele hinaus in the original German.
