Great Movie, but,,,,

I have always loved this movie. It captures the tradition of West Point, the sacrifice, the duty, all the traits that make it such an important institution for our country. I though Tyrone Power was terrific, as was Ward Bond.

But, I can't help but wonder at some of the corny business that Ford injects into his films. For example, Martin Milner staring at the moon with his girlfriend or Maureen O'Hara's fixed stare when she first walks into West Point. These scenes seem like something out of the silent era. Does anyone else feel the same way?

That's Ford. I think it works.
