'The Lone Law Breaker' (1956)

I grew up on 'The Lone Ranger', thought he was on the side of the 'law'. I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid until today and I have to say I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to watch the masked man himself pull a gun on an old shop keeper in order to get some info. from him !! WTF ?? The old man was minding his own business (literally), just trying to run his business when TLR bursts in on him, gun drawn and demands from him, at gun point, info about one of his customers purchases. The shop keeper was only trying to protect the customers privacy - as well he should, and was under no obligation, legal or otherwise, to talk to TLR.
What were they all thinking when they filmed that scene ? TLR was supposed to be a positive influence on kids ... no wonder I was such a mess as a teen - look at my influences !!

Nuthin' says 'instant gratification' like a 6 shooter :-)

No the old man was not trying to protect the customers, he was scared for his life.
The LR as the old prospector is inquiring about the disappearance of Pete Ramirez. He finds out Pete saw the "Stuff, then later got killed. The shop keeper was threatened by Cassidy to keep his mouth shut, The LR needed to know What the Stuff was and that's why he scared the shop keeper!
