In one of the User Reviews above the writer mentions that the Bavarian monarch that Lola took up with (Ludwig I) was called 'Mad King' Ludwig. Nope. 'Mad King' Ludwig was actually his son and successor Ludwig II.

His grandson actually.
Ludwig's I son and successor was Maximilian II, the father of Ludwig II.
