Better than I expected

Just watched this late last night on the movie channel and was pleasant\y surprised. Better from a historical perspective, I thought, than the later John Wayne version which was full of phony sentimentality (and similar to the Disney TV version too). By showing us Jim Bowie and Santa Anna together earlier, it gave the whole story much greater depth and pathos especially for the final tragedy. Good cast, good acting, great battle scenes.
