More than underrated, it's a masterpiece. Perhaps the greatest film ever made about architecture.

Underrated? I don't think so. For a historical costume epic involving the proverbial cast of thousands (well, hundreds anyway), this picture is curiously flat, dull and uninvolving. Maybe Howard Hawks, whose best work was in the screwball-comedy and western genres, was the wrong director for this kind of movie. If life in ancient Egypt was as boring as this film, no wonder they were so preoccupied with the afterlife.

Screwball comedy? Somehow I can't see the Hawks and Collins parts in this film being played by Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn
