This is better than most top250 movies

It's a shame this movie has such a low rating. It rocks.

I agree. It's seriously underrated. It has a "look" and "feel" which sets it apart from the other wide-screen spectacles of the 50s. Many fine moments. It does have its faults, particularly in its story structure. About the first third of the movie is almost a documentary about the building of the Great Pyramid. Intertwined with this is Pharaoh's desire to cheat time, to achieve immortality in the Second Life. Good stuff but perhaps a tough sell to a mass audience. So we're introduced to Joan Collins and the movie drifts into the formulaic story of the evil bitch whose schemes are clear to the audience even while they fool her intended victim. Entertaining and fairly restrained, by Hollywood standards, but the values of the movie's first third aren't properly developed.

I agree too. One of my favourite movies.
