The Ladykillers (1955)

I watched the original film of the Ladykillers (1955) on Sunday 27th June. Besides being extremely funny, I recognised the area of Kings Cross used for locations.

Particularly the street opposite Mrs. Wilbeforce's front door. It is a road running down to Kings Cross Station and the clock. Does anyone out there know the name of this road (if it still exists)?

I was brought up five minutes from here and would be very interested for any information.

thanks.

The road is called "Argyle Street"

By the way "the clock" tower is on the corner of the "Midland Grand Hotel" (lately called "Midland Chambers") which fronts St Pancras Station, Kings Cross Station is to the right of St. Pancras Station, but out of site, looking from Argyle St.

Million to one chances happen nine times out of ten.

If you watch closely during the robbery scene you will see in the background a very young Mick, Keith and Brian walking by, each carrying what appears to be a collection of record albums under their arms ...

:-)

( ... of course not)
