Homosexuality in Kiss Me Deadly

Although I do not personally agree with this at all, there are suggestions out there that there could be homosexual contexts within this film. It has been proposed that Hammer takes a sadistic, yet sexual pleasure in beating up his stalker during the scene where he is followed by the man with the knife. I cannot find any other reviews of this kind than the one I was shown, but I was wondering if anyone out there has an opinion on this?
Thanks

Mike Hammer was more of a sadist and misogynist than a homosexual in this film. Moreover, Hammer attracts and kisses far too many women to ever be considered gay.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find

Some people feel the need to shoehorn sexuality into something when it doesn't belong there.

I did see Hammer being somewhat conflicted. Maybe bi?

More overt, I thought, was the relationship between Charlie and Sugar... esp. given Sugar's name. He had to have earned that somehow.

But, it added to the multi-flavor aspect of the film. Lots of weird and cool characters and situations.

One of my favorites was the clerk at the Hollywood Athletic Club. "My deah sirrr... " with a grin. No, I didn't see him as gay.

I guess we are supposed to ignore that this man was trying to kill Mike. Brutally with a knife. But because Mike enjoys beating the shit out of him must have some gay meaning.

Homosexuality?! He was Mike Hammer!

No.
