Dolores Gray was a dynamic performer

Delores Gray, was a brilliant performer, just watch her in "Kismet". She never was a house-whole name in the US, but that's because she chose to go to the UK and there she became a well known mega-star. Whatever personal and private reasons she had, she elected to pursue a career in England, it was our loss here in the US. I wonder why she chose that path, I'm sure it's interesting. She could of had a great career here, too, above and beyond that of Broadway, where she excelled. She was just as talented and on an equal par as Merman and Martin. She had her Tony, too.

In "Kismet", watch her move on camera, even when she's not even the primary focus. She just had "it", very classy. And what a voice. She "stole the show" in the movie, "It's Always Fair Weather", which was for the most part, story wise and visually, "dark and dreary" anyway, except for Gray and the other actors who tried very hard.

"Kismet" was an under-rated film in it's time, It's certainly an excellent film, very pretty, too.

Couldn't take my eyes off her in this film! So slinky and alluring. Looks terrific in all her over-the-top glamorous costumes! Looking so leggy in the first scene, where she's wearing the skintight gold pants!

I had the very great pleasure of seeing her live onstage in Stephen Sondheim's "Follies" in London. She was every bit as mesmerizing as she is in "Kismet." I think "Not Since Nineveh" is one of the all-time great musical numbers ever filmed and it was all done in ONE take! Incredible with such a large cast.

Actually it was gold paint, not pants.

"household" not "house-whole"

She's the best thing about this movie.

She livened up this movie for me. I liked her jazz-type singing too as a break from the more light-operatic style of the others.
