The Boxer's Manager (spoiler)

The Boxer's Manager is leaning against the door in front of the dance hall with thousands of people all around, then he ends up in the back of the place with the goons after him. How did this happen? The manager was pretty safe, I assume, out front like he was.

the gangsters pushed him behind the place I assume, just grabbed him and pulled him out of sight

that was silly. not to mention davy running after his scarf when he knows the girl he loves is upstairs possibly being threatened by her violent boss. but whatever, i guess i'm being to hard on kubrick. after all, i'd be pissed too if someone ganked my scarf.

maybe there's a story behind the scarf, like it's his golden watch *shrugs*

For Kubrick being a perfectionist I noticed after this scene when they two cross the street that the time says 12:05am, they were supposed to meet at 8:15 sharp.

I thought this was a bit silly too!

Lets face it, many boxing promoters are pretty tough guys, being former boxers themselves. They have to be to keep a grip on their fighters. And Al looked like one of those hands-on managers who spent most of his time at the gym. Even though Rapallo's thugs were tough guys too, I'm sure Al could have defended himself, or at least made enough of a commotion for them to back off in such a crowded place.

I also think it was a missed opportunity for Davey not to have given at least one of Rapallo's boys a few slaps, considering the fact that he was very nearly a title contender himself.

I have to agree with what was already said. I found it odd that he just suddenly ended up in a dark alley. They were in the middle of a busy city so how would they be able to drag him off somewhere without being seen? Also, why wouldn't he try to run or yell or defend himself at all. Then when he backs himself into a corner in the alley, he has a clear chance where he could make a run for it, but instead tries to climb a wall!!

Overall I noticed quite a few errors from Kubrick, but I have to remember it was one of his earlier films. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting from such a genius though.

From my perspective Vincent sent those 2 guys down after the girl, once they sent her back up they assumed the guy that was standing next to her was the guy they were supposed to get rid of. They mistake the manager for being Davey because he ends up running after his scarf.
