Primo Carnera

I saw this movie on T.V. as a child (probably around 1959 or 1960) and was struck by the originality and life of it. Only today did it register that the part of the villainous wrestler was played by former heavyweight champion Primo Carnera! His performance was at least as menacing as Mike Mazurky's in "Night and the city" (another British made film about professional wrestling).

Hi, well that's two of us on the board, a great film,I grew up in this period, I went to the Peticoat lane almost every weekend, the film really captures what it was like in the 50s. Primo was also in Mighty Joe Young, 1945.byeee.

Watched this today on UK Channel 4.

Brilliant film, very atmospheric. And yes, the villainous wrestler was excellent.
