The role of Andy the hitman played by Jan Merlin was an attempt to mimic Richard Widmark or Lee Van Cleef as a crazied killer.

I thought he looked very much like Charlton Heston, minus the voice.

When I was an extra I worked with Jan on Tales of the Gold Monkey. He was very nice. He and I talked about how he was always cast as a bad guy. It kept him busy.
