Maltese Falcon statuette

At the 38:46 mark of the film, top right, can be seen the famous 'Blackbird'. It's in every scene shot in the new D.A.'s office.

Here's our conversation: Three comments spread over 9 years. Now that we have high def, it makes it easier to spot things like this and I got a big kick out of seeing the Maltese Falcon standing there in the D.A.'s office.

I just saw this film for the first time in 2016 and I can't believe I've never even heard of it.

Ben Mankewiez on TCM said that those paintings were real from Edward G. Robinson's collection. The Degas and the Gaugin were mentioned but there were plenty of others that also look real,( a Roualt?) What a cool thing to be able to do! Put your art collection on display in a movie. I love that.

In Nina Foch/ Hugh Marlowe apartment above their beds, there is a beautiful landscape of an avenue of trees. It looks like a watercolor. Does anyone know who painted it?

I look forward to your answer in another 3 or 4 years.
