Thanks TCM

For cutting the movie off fifteen minutes before the end tonight.

I'm 'glad' to read that; I thought it was an issue with my dvr. Don't recall that happening before on TCM.

I don't think it was as much as fifteen minutes, probably about five. Still, it was the ending and I was more than a little upset having pushed myself to stay up late to see the complete film.

It's insulting and disrespectful on TCM's part.
The viewers had to put up with several transmission glitches interrupting the broadcast. To then allow the ending to be truncated is shamefull. I'd never seen this movie before (at least not completely).

I thought it was just me. I was so freaking pissed last night! Susan Hayward is in my top five favorite Old Hollywood actresses now. Yesterday was my introduction to her.

There were several moments during the airing when the film froze for fifteen/twenty seconds. I'm guessing that it added to the allocated running time, and they had to end it when it was scheduled to end. I've seen the film before, and there was about two minutes remaining. Still, TCM needs to deal with that kind of problem better, especially for a star-of-the-month presentation.

I had recorded the movie to watch later on my DVR - I could tell that they had just cut the final minutes - as the movie wouldn't have just ended with Lillian Roth about to appear on THIS IS YOUR LIKE and then no end credits at all.

I hope that TCM will try again (in the near future) to get this right.

It's on WatchTCM.com, so if you can stream that, you'll get to see the whole thing! 😃
