The screenplay was mistakenly nominated for an Academy Award when the
Academy nominating committee confused the title with the Bing Crosby
/ Grace Kelly musical released the following year. The writers
graciously declined the nomination.

What's really funny to me is that this movie has a 7.3 rating on imdb - I wonder how many people voted for it thinking it was the Crosby movie. Personally I'd give it a 10 - I love the Bowery Boys.
