Boy Jean Simmons got a LOT uglier after joining Kiss

While I have you here, is it me or is Frank Sinatra the most overrated singer of all time? "Oh but his phrasing". When you have to go to the phrasing, aren't you sort of admitting someone's voice isn't so hot?

reply

Any other complaints?

reply

NO, Sinatra most definitely ISN'T overrated.

Umm no. There are many creative ways to sing.

At the time phrasing gained prominence because of better microphones. Before, singer were shouting or singing loudly more.

Sinatra was arguably the most influential popular singer of the 20th Century. He was pivotal and important, or ground-breaking, in his vocal style and phrasing, but also his career choices, choice of material and even the venues he played. That can't really be denied, given the shifting landscapes of popular music that Sinatra was at the forefront of. Just as Jolson and Crosby were in their own ways before Sintara, and as Elvis, The Beatles and Bob Dylan would be in the fifties and sixties. But Sinatra's vocal range, artistic depth and creative ability were exceptional in every way.

Sinatra was THE man. None better, none like him to this day.

What was remarkable to me was Brando's singing in this film. It was great, and he was so charasmatic, I loved watching these actors. And Jean Simmons was a famous beauty. Really good film.
