Our community theatre did this back in '93

And it was one of the worst productions I've been in.
The director was snappy and rude, the cast hated him that much it plagued the show. The numbers went on and on til you wished Miss Adelaide would fall of the stage for comedy reasons. Not one of best shows our theatre has performed.
