Who Here Actually Has Godzilla Raids Again on VHS or DVD?

Since this is probably the rarest Godzilla movie to find, who here actually owns it?

Sign here if you do.

Well, I do. I just got it today. It is actually pretty good.

It's not pink! It's lightish red!

This was the first one i owned that was legit. My uncle had been just making copies of his tapes for me when i was a little kid(age5,I'm 20 now), and he got me Godzilla raids again instead of making a copy. I still have it too. its from video treasures, and has neat artwork on the cover. This movie always confused me when I was little because the box said Godzilla raids again but the movie tiles said gigantis the fire monster. but I understood it as I grew up. now i have it on dvd! now if only i could get Godzilla 1985 on dvd.

Bootlegs for Godzilla '85 (a.k.a: The Return of Godzilla) only or you can get the Official Hong Kong Region 3 Release, which contains the orginal Japanese Cut (Raymond Burr is not in this cut, it's like Gojira) and Cantonese Dubbing with switchable English and Chinese Subs. I still need to get this one on DVD, There's a little Asian shop that sells Bootlegs and sometimes real Region 3 releases and they ran out of copies of G'85 (Actually Region 3) and I got the region 3 release of Gamera: The Brave.

EDIT:
I'm not sure if there are any copies of Godzilla Raids Again anywhere on this Damn Island of O'ahu and I'm getting pissed off by it. Wal-Mart had Gojira on the day it came out and now they didn't even get the Mothra Vs. Gojira or Godzilla Raids Again.

F uck Pirates of the Caribbean, It's all about Spider-Man and Grindhouse!

I bought the movie on DVD a few days before it was supposed to come out, on March 29th I believe. The store I bought it in had one other copy of Godzilla Raids Again and about five copies of Godzilla vs. Mothra.

reply

I actually have BOTH Godzilla Raids Again and Godzilla 1985 on video.📼 If you just look in second-hand stores, you can find awesome things. If you go on eBay, they actually have a fair few Godzilla Raids Again on DVD. 📀

i have it on VHS, but im trying to get it on DVD

reply

I have it on VHS..one of my first Godzilla movies. The first time I saw it, I was sorta confused because from looking at the cover art, I thought Godzilla was supposed to be fighting a bipedal monster.

I just ordered it off of overstock, can't wait till I get it on DVD!

Ramones, the best band ever.

I just bought it on DVD on Sunday

reply

I have it on vhs only.

reply

Yep, I got it a few days ago, some of the action's kind of cheesy, but I liked it.

I've had it for about a month. I've got a Classic Media release. It's a far cry from "Gojira", but good in its own way.

I have it on VHS. I got it 6 years ago.

joost (www.joost.com) shows it, along with several other stinky godzilla epics, on their godzilla channel (which also has the best -- the original Gojira with subtitles).

Hi,one can never be too rich or have too many friends. I bought dvd from bestbuy, original version in japanese and american version. on one disk It also has short doc about the men who played Godzilla, very interesting

I had a vhs copy of Giganis the fire Monster but upgraded last month to a fantastic DVD which contains both american and Japanese versions of the films plus lots of extras

I bought "Raids" along with "Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster" and "Creature From The Black Lagoon" at K-Mart in about 1987 for $8 each. Wish I had bought "Grizzly" too, but those three broke me finanically as it was. Remember when VHS wasn't cheap?

I just got it on DVD today

Even though the DVD came out in April, I couldn't find it around here until about June, and then I promptly bought it. I like it, too, Anguiras rocks.

Aren't you relieved to know you're not a golem?

reply

I got it for Christmas as part of a box set; the disk has both the US and Japanese versions. I must say, it's dissapointing. They don't even call the monster Godzilla (they call him "Gigantis" for some reason), and he makes Anguirus noises...kinda confusing when both are on the screen at the same time, making the same sounds.

reply

Watch the Japanese version, he's still called Godzilla.

reply

I plan to. Hate subtitles, but if he sounds right and they call him by the right name, it's gotta be better.

reply

Just to let you know, the original Japanese version was released on DVD in North America in April last year. If you don't beleive me, look on Best Buy.com. Yes, it contains the American version too.

reply

When I first bought the Classic Media DVD last year, I watched the English dubbed version first and thought it was so bad that I would never watch it again. I recently watched the original Japanese version on the same disc and thought it was much better.

I'm not sure of any of you know this but AOL video has a couple of Godzilla movies and this was one of them (dubbed version) you can watch. I was suprised because I've never seen this one before. Not overwelming but not too bad either. You can really see the evolution of these films starting with this one. The link is:
