watched up to the part geordie wins at the olympics and kisses the german athlete and nora switches off the tv back in scotland... had to run off to a capoeira class- how did it end?! did he end up with nora or stay with the german girl?

Geordie goes, back to Scotland. Everyone is mad at him for kissing the other girl. He then tells Nora the German girl meant nothing. They argue for a minute, fall in the water together, he gives her the hat, they kiss and they live happily ever after.

The 'German' athlete was not German. She was Danish, which is abundantly clear in the movie. By the way, this part was played by Doris Goddard, who was British.

And it was the "Wireless" (radio) she turned off not a TV.
