I remember Fort Yuma

When this film, Fort Yuma, appeared in theaters, I was seven years old. And that was probably the age I was when I saw it. Though I've never seen it again since, I remember certain scenes vividly and found the action incredibly exciting. It has thus stuck with me as the best cavalry and Indian movie I've ever seen. But, no doubt, with the passage of time and under the influence of today's standards, I would probably find it problematic in various ways. So I would like to see it again. Does anyone know where this film might be available, whether being aired on television or available for rent or purchase on video? -- Fred

I search too for this film (I saw it in 1969 for the last time). I remember I liked it very much.

I remember seeing it years ago but don't remember much. Charles Marquis Warren(Gunsmoke, Rawhide) also had Little Big Horn(1951) which was very violent for its time when you were used to Roy Rogers. Lloyd Bridges leads a small detachment of 15 men across 250 miles to join Custer at the Little Big Norn and is determined to get there even if it means killing everybody else in the process.

Cast is filled with familiar faces: John Ireland, Marie Windsor, Reed Hadley, Jim Davis, Hugh O'Brian, Rodd Redwing and Sheb Wooley. I took a course in films several years ago in which we had to analyze films, and LBH was one I chose for the first test. The difference between a Roy Rogers movie and LBH? When Dave Sharpe beat Rogers in Bells of San Angelo, you know Roy will be back to sing Happy Trails. When the Indians torture Wooley, you know he won't be back to sing the Purple People Eater.
