Great movie

This was a great movie. I wonder if a remake would be successful, though. Considering the period feel of it.

It was so great it gave me hemorrhoids. Fabulous editing and sound effects.

What is the sound an imploding pimp makes?

reply

Hemorrhoids?
What are they?

I admit that the film has a rather lurid appeal and the lead actors play it admirably straight but Bill Travers and Belinda Lee as the young couple were competing in the wooden acting stakes.

Made me laugh. The irony of someone complaining about the acting in a Stewart Granger film. Liked this movie quite a bit and I found Bill Travers annoying but Belinda Lee had the Arlene Dahl effect on me. I never heard a line she said but certainly paid attention when she was on screen.

thought an enjoyable film

Footsteps in the Fog was better than I expected it to be. Fantastic cinematography, brilliantly acted by the leads and an intriguing storyline.

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".

I happened to see the ending scene, found it to be powerful.

I later saw the complete film and found the story/script implausible for many reasons.

The ending was unsatisfying and there were entirely too many loose ends left in the air.

Chris Challis normally does and outstanding job but the DVD was taken from a out of registration print and I'm certain was not the look that was original but a poorly timed DVD version.
