Color vs. B+W

While watching the Sony DVD of Footsteps In The Fog, I was convinced this was shot in B&W and 'colorized' by an intern or trainee at Sony studios. The color looks awful. I was wishing my DVD player (or the DVD itself) had the option of playing the movie in B&W.

In a couple of scenes I thought it looked like it was supposed to be 3D - when the horseless carriage driven by the young lawyer turns up outside the house they all seem to have a green and red glow around them.

In one review it said something like "the muted technicolour suits the oppressive tone of the movie", which I agree with.

Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!

I also thought it was colorized too but I don't believe it was. It think it was filmed like that, in technicolor but not the super saturated gorgeous technicolor that we're used to. Considering the year (1955), I'm surprised at how terrible the quality actually was. It could definitely benefit from some serious cleaning up....would looove to see this on bluray but highly doubt that'll ever happen.
