Abra is a whore

Wow, so repulsed by her. I hate women like her. Whenever Aron is not around she's struttin' around with the Dean.

"Mickey, he y'kn-- he takes a punishment.........I dunno why he does it"

I didn't view Abra as a whore, as the film progresses it becomes obvious that she is having doubts that Aron truely loves her and becomes increasingly close to Cal because Abra felt that she shared similarities with him. The fairground scene is a great example to illustrate this point as they both feel comfortable showing the playful side of their characters.

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".

I had the impression when Abra and Call were talking on the ferris wheel, that Abra was trying to say that if she married Adam that she would get restless and run out on him, like Kate did to Adam.

What happened to Cadabra?

Sacred bats don't leave dead ibises under the portrait of the Cabbage of Celestial Increase.

She was Abra's evil twin and was last seen hookin' down by the railway station.

The point of this little bit is that people in real life are flawed - and there is no strict 'good' and 'bad' categories to divide people into (excepting murderers, rapists etc). Aron in particular saw things in black and white, that all good people were absolute saints. Abra felt like she had suppress her own personality in order to please him, to live up to his standards of what 'good' is.

In actuality she was far more like Cal. She had a mischievous, playful side to her just like him. The story about throwing her stepmother's ring in the river is an example of that. Like Cal, she had a troubled relationship with her father growing up, and acted out because of it. Cal understood that and that's why he found the story funny. There's no way she and Aron could have had a laugh at that.

Despite her flaws, Abra was a good kind-hearted person who knew that by showing someone love and care you could bring out the best in them - as opposed to writing them off as bad because they weren't well-behaved or had problems.
