The Script is AWFUL

As a longtime Astaire/Caron fan, I want so much to love this film, but
the screenplay is an overlong drag, totally devoid of any wit. Scenes
go on and on, sometimes lasting three times longer than necessary. The
wonderful Fred Clark and Thelma Ritter are wasted in flat, dull supporting
roles that simply fail to come to life. "Slew Foot" and "Something's Gotta
Give" are the two best numbers, but everything that happens before and
after script-wise is blander than a paste sandwich. Too bad.
