Faith Domergue

She was my first crush. When I was a kid growing up in the 1970s, most of the movies I watched were whatever WOR from New York was showing on Saturday mornings, and all of those films were horror and science fiction flicks. Faith Domergue was in a bunch of them, including "Cult of the Cobra," "It Came From Beneath the Sea,"and "This Island Earth."

Every time Faith walked on the screen, the heart in my little boy chest started to beat a little faster. What a beauty!

It's nice to hear from another "Chiller Thriller" fan like myself. I used to watch it on Saturday mornings on WOR, too.

As for Faith, I don't recall being enamored with her back then, but the adult me realizes what I was missing. :-) I did love Gloria Talbot as a kid, though.

No blah, blah, blah!

Good choice! My favorite 50s genre beauty is Mara Corday(Miss October, 1958 in Playboy!).

Yes, she was indeed sensational looking.

BTW, Lori Nelson was another that had that sexy-and-sweet thing going for her.

Lori had beautiful cheekbones. At 5'9", couldn't miss Jean Byron. Saw an photo of the cast between scenes of Invisible Invaders, and Robert Hutton's eyes were glued on Jean Byron.

reply

She must have looked kind of funny with Hutton's eyes glued to her.

Nothing is more beautiful than Oscar Levant.

All those 50s sci-fi girls were really very pretty -- funny never thought so when I was a young teen watching them, but now yes. Always likrd Faith too but not her last name, lol.

reply

Oh, yes! As a teenager in the 1950s, I was hooked by Faith Domergue from the get-go. Cult of the Cobra was the only film of hers I have seen. But I was impressed.

WOR had the best radio AND television stations in New York City (throw in WABD channel 5). It may have had a low budget, but both were very creative.

Stupid!?! I never called you stupid! To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people!
