what model was rico's car?

rico's car (the one he crashed) had a rear-seat clock embedded in the back of the front seat, and it looked like some sort of handrail beside it ...

i know nothing about cars, but i notice unusual things, and i have never seen a car with a rear-seat clock like that ...

does anybody know what kind of car it was?

I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

At this site: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_259236-Buick-Special-41-1940.html someone commented that it is probably a 1940 Buick Special.

I think that car was chosen as the closest match for the stock footage of the car crash they used to depict Rico's demise. At least it's from the right era, unlike almost all the other cars used in this clunker of a movie. They set it in 1945, but most of the cars, including the police cars, seem to be 1950s models. I guess they thought (or hoped) no one would notice.
