Really leaves a lot to be desired

As it is an older film it's not really fair to judge it totally by today's standards.
This is not something that has really stood the test of time however.
I thought they were rather quick to reveal the true nature of what they were up against, too soon in the film.
They should have just let it come out slowly as the film progressed.
It would have made the story more interesting instead of revealing the whole secret at the
beginning.

Other than that it's your typical 50's style B movie in every cliched sense of the word.
Nothing really original here except for maybe the monsters, who in this case were not etraterrestrials, nor overgrown
insects,spiders, crabs or leeches.
Expanded to giant size by Atomic radiation.

I like it, but I generally agree. This is a good example of that 'interesting failure' that could easily be improved as an update. (I won't use that dreaded term "Remake.")

The basic plot, ideas and set-up , have strong potential, but it could be much further expanded on.
.
The creatures should not be CGI. Needs that dark, gritty realism.

Roky Erickson wrote a song about this. On YouTube.
