as does France... which is more than twice the price.
Both are in Cinemascope...and nice prints to boot...
The DVD box set "TCM Vault: The Douglas Sirk Filmmaker Collection", releasing on September 30th, 2010, will contain this film and three other Universal titles. Details at classicflix.com

Great news! On the TCM website announcing the special Douglas Sirk boxed set, if you click on that, it takes you to a second webpage where you can pre-order the individual movies represented in that set. So YES, CAPTAIN LIGHTFOOT is finally available on DVD on 9-30-2010 in USA Region 1 format, from TCM and Universal Studios. And it will be available in Widescreen format!

Yesterday I received my new TCM-Universal DVD of CAPTAIN LIGHTFOOT, and it is indeed excellent! Beautiful Technicolor, CinemaScope wide screen format, and Stereo soundtrack! I highly recommend it, and I thank Universal and TCM for making this new release possible! I also purchased TAZA SON OF COCHISE and that one is wonderful also!
If anyone wants to view this film the way it was meant to be seen, with the beauty of Ireland's emerald isle, you must purchase this DVD! You will not be disappointed!
The only thing missing from the special features on these new TCM-Universal releases, is the original theatrical preview trailers. I would have loved to have them too.
