A truly 'defining' film

I agree.

An excellent film.

Actually, I think there's a little "hokey" in all teachers so this is pretty accurate.
I remember being a new teacher and the excitement of teaching students. It really is such a privilege and I think that we all have had those moments of let down. I too remember thinking, "Why won't they let me teach?" (and not just the students but the administration causing this...)

I'm not sure what's so laughable about this movie. They did a good job of showing the atmosphere in a rough neighborhood.
