What was the song that Benny played as Alice was watching, saying "He's asking me now." at the end of the movie?

shareHummm....I used to know this, but will have to get back to you. I checked the soundtrack listing but the name didn't jump out at me....
Edit:I believe it is "Moonglow" Written by Will Hudson, Edgar De Lange and Irving Mills
Read My Lips!!!!
it is. the song is used in the movie as an expression of his feelings towards alice, since he doesn't have the courage to speak up.
overall, one of the best touches in the movie.

Well Benny and Alice eventually married in 1943 and stayed married until her death in 1978.

No the song that is played when she says "He's asking me now" is not "Moonglow" that's played earlier in the concert in the movie just before "Sing, Sing, Sing" the song that is being played is Eubie Blake's "Memories Of You" It was written by Eubie Blake and Andy Razaf and and was performed in Broadway show: 'Lew Leslie's Blackbirds of 1930'.
Yes, that is absolutely correct. "Moonglow" is a swell song, but it is definitely and positively "Memories of You" that operates as the closing number/marriage proposal.
