Dorothy Malone... WOW!!!!

I came across this movie accidently a few days ago and when I saw this stunningly, beautiful burnette on screen I was like: Who is that? I did a double take and thought to myself is that Dorothy Malone. Nah, she doesn't look that great in her movies. I mean she's attractive, but not drop dead gorgeous. Well, in this movie she is drop dead gorgeous. I mean positively stunning and beautiful! In this film she looks great in a sweater, glasses, and a swimsuit. There is no way that I could go back to that little girl back home after having a fling with this mature, elegant, sexy babe. I'm disappointed that she is in so little of the movie. Maybe she had better things to do. After she exists the film, the movie becomes a joke and it's all downhill. The brief scenes she's in though, can't be missed, because she is a dynamic chick!

Agreed, she is a show stopper. Nancy Olson had a hard act to follow. I guess Tab Hunter turned Dorothy down because he was looking for a few good men! But seriously, most people had morals back then and his character had a sweetheart at home.

the scene where she changes into a swimsuit makes the movie worth watching.
she was a walking advertisement for wearing a push-up bra
she was in a room before she was actually in there..
he's lucky she didn't poke his eyes out when they embraced
too bad she wasted it on Tab Hunter

I tell you what, bobbynear. If you check her out at about time 42:00 you'll notice that when she takes off that pink sweater (in that very risqué strip), she's not wearing a bra, push-up or otherwise. Really, WOW!! Take a boo at her in The Big Sleep. Choo

Update: Just had another look at that scene and noticed that, earlier when she does the "I'll just lean back and put my elbows on the bar" trick, she really is wearing a bra. You can see the back and shoulder straps under the sweater. I guess they lost the bra for the later part to raise the temperature, which it did.
Lost my head for a second but I'm alright now. C.

Totally agree.

She was in the room before she was actually there.

Her acting was pretty good too.

Back in the fifties while everyone was going gaga over Marilyn Monroe, I was doing the same over Nancy Malone! It started for me in 1946's "The Big Sleep" when she, as someone working in a bookstore, had a dynamite scene with Humphrey Bogart! Wow is right!!!!
