Is this from a Fury episode?

I've been looking for a movie or an episode of a series with a particular scene involving a horse. Someone on another board suggested it might be a "Fury" episode.

In this scene, there's are several people standing around a sick horse that is lying down it its stall. The father (or father-figure) says something to the effect of "We'll have to give him a mustard pack and let him sweat it out." So they proceed to coat the horse with some sort of "mustard plaster" or "mustard poultice", then cover it with blankets. I think the fever breaks overnight or somesuch and the horse recovers quickly thereafter.

Is this from "Fury", or does it at least seem familiar to anyone? I'd be happy to hear any suggestions. I've listed everything I've ruled out already in this thread:

Thanks for the help!

I see it's been a month since you posted this question, but I have never read this board before today. But to answer... I don't recall a Fury episode which has this scene, but I think I do remember a "Spin and Marty" ep where this was done. "S & M," of course, was a serial on the old [/i]Mickey Mouse Club.[/i]

Wow, thanks for posting, cynic2all! You may have just solved an age-old mystery for me! Don't want to jump the gun on calling it solved quite yet, but it definitely seems like a very strong lead.

My first reaction, however, was to say no way! I'd heard of Spin and Marty, but only vaguely and had no idea it had anything to do with a ranch with horses or The Mickey Mouse Club. And indeed, that was a show I don't recall ever seeing. Also, what I watched didn't seem like it could be covered in an eleven minute episode. I googled around for images, but nothing was ringing any bells. I don't remember any of the people, or even those t-shirts with the logos on them.

But then I came across this:

Spin races off alone on Sailor, getting himself knocked unconscious. Marty, Col Logan, and Bill Burnett rescue him, but Moochie, told to fetch an older boy to rub down Skyrocket, forgets to do it, and the horse catches a chill. Exit Moochie, stage left, until Skyrocket recovers and the tearful lad is brought back.
Next, I found evidence via Google News Archives that Spin and Marty episodes were being re-run as a standalone show by the Disney Channel during the mid-'90s, which is roughly within the timeframe I remember seeing it. There were two episodes per show, which would seem to point to this being the one:

And finally, this image of the horse in the stable lying down with what may be blankets covering him:

It's not exactly the angle I remember and I'd swear there were more people around, but there could easily be another shot like that in the episode. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure that's got to be it. Too bad it's both unreleased on video and a Disney product. Makes it tough to find for confirmation, at least legitimately. Well, they did release the first season, I guess. Maybe it'll eventually come along. In the meantime, I'll dig around some more and maybe ask the fans about it. Will post back here when I know for sure one way or the other. Thanks so much again!

Great research! It's nice to find someoen who knows how to investigate stuff on the internet. There's almost nothing one can't discover with enough research!

It was 'The Hobo', the 13th episode of the 1st season.
