Miss Mouse Married To A Lion?

Anyone recall these two? In the newer, last house, they were over to the side, about where Grandfather Clock would be standing.

Miss Mouse would stick her head out of her hole and all she would do was a little chirping noise, and the Captain would talk to her, then her husband, the lion (if he was Mr. Lion or John Lion, I don't recall) would stick out this long lion's tail and you would hear him roaring.

This was all these two would do and the Captain would talk to them, like he was Timmy talking to Lassie.

"What, Miss Mouse? Are you upset?"

chirpy, chirpy, chirpy.

"Mr. Lion did what?"

chirpy, chirpy, chirpy.

"Mr. Lion, are you there?"

roar!

Anyone recall these? I don't think they were faves, but I do recall them a bit.

I always think of Miss Mouse when I get my haircut. There's a hole in the wall where they sweep the hair clippings and it looks just like the one on Captain Kangaroo.

Yeah, I was just remembering them. My cat reminded me of them. Whenever it thunders, he hides under the couch (I have no idea how he fits under there) and leaves his tail sticking out. If I talk to him, he'll twitch it... and that reminded me of the lion in the mousehole.

The Captain had a very soft soothing voice, I liked it and it made me feel like he had time for me.
