The best archer to compete against Robin

My wife and I believe the sherriff's archer Charles Black was Robert Shaw who was an unknown yet. Neither archer received any credit at all. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Shaw had a credit as Peter von Breck in the series "William Tell." It was contemorary to "The Adventures Of Robin Hood" and produced by the same company. Charles Black may very well have been Shaw. If you can recall the title of the episode, I will take a long look. It'll give me an excuse to pull out my DVD's. :-0

Although she didn't actually compete against Robin, Robin himself said from the earliest episodes that Marian was better than he was.

And I seem to remember an episode where Marian wins an archery contest in Sherwood Forrest, but I can't remember which episode it was.

Season 3, Episode 38, Marian's Prize.
