question

do you think she always loved barney or do u think it was just after they were married she realised she loved him

I love... I love... I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on"

i think she knew she liked him and to a degree loved him but i dont think she realized how much until after they married.

i sometimes wonder about her marrying him though, clearly she thought of her sister's happiness expecting amy and alex to marry after she left the scene but they didn't. i do wonder if she really loved him when she married him or did she just marry him so amy could have alex and then later realised that she was really in love with him(barney).

i think so. i have only watched it once i will again to be clear. but i think maybe amy's happiness was a factor in her decision to marry barney. it was also part of the doubt that plagued him (did she really love him or did she just want her sister to be happy?). there was also laurie's wanting to barney that i think influenced her too.

Have you watch Four Daughters? It's the original to this movie, and after watching that it reaffirms my original thought. I think she always loved Burke, but because Sinatra didn't want his character to die, they changed the ending, but I don't think they changed enough in the movie to make me feel that she didn't loved Burke after she married Barney. Maybe if they played down her relationship with Burke, but I liked them too much together to think she'd fall out of love with him.
