Music question

When Frank is playing on his introduction to the film= does anyone know who is actually playing the piano part? I've heard rumours that it was either Peter Nero or Andre Previn? Thanks.

reply

It was Andre Previn who later made a wonderful jazz album with Doris Day called "Duets" on Columbia Records.

This has always been a favorite film of mine, since i was a kid in the 60's. what i notice now, is that most of the sinatra hits from this time, were recorded by teen idol chet baker... things like, 'time after time,' 'some one to watch over me,' 'our love,' etc., appearently were sinatra hits before baker recorded them. yet baker recorded them enough times on enough albulms to claim them as his own. has any one noticed this?

reply

Thanks for the answer. That is exactly the reason I came into IMDB today to find out! (Too.)

Previn also worked on Sinatra's radio program in the forties. And both were involved with Mia Farrow later on.

reply

The piano player was Bill Miller...Frank's piano player when he was in concert.
