Coming to DVD

Go to Amazon and type in the title. It is coming but I don't think there is an official release date yet.

reply

Yes, it's being released May 13, 2008 (which is turning out to be a busy release date for DVDs). It's on the Movies Unlimited site, which usually notes coming releases sooner than anyone else. MSRP is $14.99, but of course it'll be less in most places. No extras that I saw.

reply

Too bad there are no extras cuz we boomers have many questions, I'd reckon. I'd like to know who was in the suit and what happened to it after the pic was made. Onward and downward, then.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

reply

Herbert J. Yates probably used it to go trick-or-treating in.

reply

What happened to that suit?
google "HERE COMES TOBOR" (with quotes). Its not listed in IMDB yet.

HERE COMES TOBOR is an apparently unsold pilot for a 50s TV series
based on the movie, and campy as all get out. To paraphrase a post
on another forum; Think LASSIE with a robot instead of a collie.
I highly recommend.

The only downer is this is apparently the one and only episode in
existence.

It's public domain, free download at

That's funny, in 2005, I got a factory Republic DVD of TOBOR THE GREAT in Hollywood, with the same artwork graphics as on the 2001 VHS release by Republic. I guess I got lucky and got one of the few that were released before Republic stopped releasing DVDs themselves, and were sold to Paramount-Viacom. I also got the Lions Gate 2008 release.
