6.6 / 10 ????

I never heard of this movie before Svenghoolie tonight. I certainly was never aware of Faith Domergue either. What a beautiful woman! I can't believe that this movie has been rated so lowly by IMBd members. I seldom get real joy out of watching TV, but tonight was great. It makes me wonder how many other gems have escaped me throughout the years! Fun, fun stuff!

It was used I. The mst3k movie which or. Got it voted down. Honestly I like this old sci fi and monster movies. I do think this is a pretty 6.1 movie for me.

I hope not. That would mean people are either judging the whole film by the abridged version featured in MST3K: THE MOVIE, or worse they're giving THIS ISLAND EARTH a low rating simply because it was featured on MST3K, regardless of the voters having seen either version.

So it hot voted down to 5.8 in half a year? Interesting.

Well I posted an 8. Never had seen this until last night, I loved it. The 5.8 is simply due to the fact that the internet has turned everybody into idiots.

I voted it a 9! I saw it at the drive-in movie in 1955, the year it came out and I absolutely love it! Great Science Fiction movie! The pre-cursor to Forbidden Planet.

I gave it an 8. It's a great 50s sci-fi flick. Faith Domergue was also in It Came from Beneath the Sea, another 50s favorite of mine. One of Ray Harryhausen's best.

Yeah, I believe that MST3K has tarnished the rep of this fine film. This movie never deserved to be featured on that show.

I saw this in the theater in it's first run when I was 7. I remember it like yesterday. As a huge fan and a student of the Horror Sci-Fi splurge of the 50's and 60's, I saw them all.
Trust me - This Island Earth is in the top 5 best of both decades. Technicolor (not common in those days for these kind of movies) and really good special effects made this a winner. I think it holds up great still today.

It needs a good release here on Blu-Ray. The German and French discs look pretty good - but could look better.
