My girlfriend thinks Rex is 'dreamy' in this film

We were watching MST3K: THE MOVIE, as a kid Alice said she used to like old sci-fi films, so I thought I could show her MST3K. And of course she said Rex was dreamy in THIS ISLAND EARTH. And to add insult to injury she asked why men aren't that sexy anymore. I don't quite know what she means.

I was just "ouch."

But she laughed it off so...

I'm as hetero as they come and I always thought Rex Reason and his brother Rhoades Reason are what Real Men should look like to women.

The voice sounds so manly it seems almost fake.

I know what you mean. I started watching television movies/shows during the late '60s/early '70s and the Reasons (and others) were the template for what a guy should be. My father had a similar hairstyle and attitude, so that probably had something to do with solidifying that impression upon the young me.
