Big age gap.

He found true love at 55-56.

As the mother would have to be so much younger than him it was probably just lust, or a slow day at the lab.

At the age of 63, President John Tyler (b. 1790) had a son (b.1853). At the age of 75, that son had a son of his own. President Tyler's grandson (b. 1928) was 138 years younger than the President.

One of my great great grandfathers was born when his father was fifty. His youngest sister was born when their father was 60. That father's father-in-law was about 61 when his youngest child was born.

Joan Weldon was twenty-three in the autumn of 1953 when the movie was filmed. Was it stated in dialogue that her character, Dr. Patricia Medford, was twenty-one? If it was, I missed it. Edmund Gwenn was seventy-six, but I got the impression Dr. Harold Medford was in his sixties.
