According to IMDb, she was two years older?

Their roles suggest, Anne Francis's character was older.

Anne was born in 1930, Debbie was born in 1932, making Anne 2 years older than Debbie. I've never really been a fan of either, but they were both absolutely gorgeous in this movie. Debbie played her part perfectly. She was 21 or 22 when this was made, but she was very convincing as a 17-year-old. I thought she was adorable. And I have never seen Anne look so beautiful. Her eyes were among the sexiest I have ever seen. And she looked thin in this movie - it really looked good on her.

Nobody has mentioned the real stretch here: Dick Powell was older than Debbie Reynolds and Anne Francis added together.

Yes, Dick was 49 during filming (Dec 1953-Jan 1954). He certainly didn't look 35 (his character's age)!!
