Seems many folks believe that Judy should have won Best Actress

1st Seems it was a close vote -- Grace Kelly by 6 votes

Checking it out at www.filmsite.org It seems the academy got it right for all the awards THAT year --- IMHO

Musicals were not generally best anything at that time, except Music and choreography
