Beyonce and Leonard Dicapro...WTF?!

I know, it's very weird! I don't judge the idea of remaking the film, since it's already been done three times, but really? Beyonce?? Using someone like her is kind of dooming it to fall short of other versions, because she isn't the strongest dramatic actress. It just sounds like the typical Hollywood thing, which is choosing someone based on popularity then talent. As for Leo, he's not THE worst I could think of, but he's certainly not my idea of the best.

Clint isn't exactly known for pulling landmark performances. Maybe David Fincher should do this instead and have Beyonce do 100 takes until she gets it right? LMAO that would be so hilarious.

I haven't seen the Streisand version, but they are saying it will be closer to that one and focus on the music industry rather than Vicky's rise to movie stardom.

And in another thread people have said they were surprised at Beyonce's improved performance in Cadillac Records and that it was miles better than her role in Dreamgirls. Having seen the latter, I can safely say she isn't horrible and there's a chance she can surprise us all in Clint's picture.

I'm usually against remakes but if we were going to have one, I don't think having Clint Eastwood behind it is a bad thing. We can look forward to high production values and good performances. I would hope an actor-turned-director with over 50 years experience could coach Beyonce through the difficult scenes.
