If producers opted to launch a revival....(or a new movie!)

Who would you like to see cast in it???

I think Craig Bierko or James Barbour would be great onstage.

As for the screen, Hugh Jackman, anyone???

Has there ever been a Broadway revival of this? If not, it is about time they did.

I know who I would NOT like to see in it. Sorry if you are a fan of theirs, but I can't stand Britney Spears, Mandy, Jessica and Ashley Simpson, or Beyonce and as long as they stay FAR AWAY from this, or any musical remake for that matter, I will be happy. Again, I don't mean to be disrespectful and if you like them, that is all good. I just want someone who has real singing and acting chops, even if they are an unknown which I would like to see equally as well. The way I see it, if the person can sing and nail the role, it should convince the audience enough to make it a hit.

Milly--In order of preference
Amy Adams
Laura Michelle Kelly
Kristin Chenoweth
Anne Hathaway

Adam-
Hugh Jackman
Ewan McGregor
James Marsden

Brothers--Is Jesse McCartney good enough? I really don't want to see Zac Efron do it, but he might be good enough. Any suggestions for the brothers?

Brides-I have lots of ideas for the brides. All of these girls I know can sing, some are professional dancers as said on their profiles here. Now some I haven't actually heard sing or seen dance, so I realize that it is in theory. But anyway, this is fun to think of!
AnnaSophia Robb
Bonnie Wright-Yes, Ginny Weasley. REad her profile. An all-around artist.
Hayden Panatierre
Amanda Siefrid
Anne Hathaway-If she didn't get Milly. I can totally see her as Dorcas
Jayne Wisener--I know some people hate her, but I think she is awesome!
Autumn Reeser--played Taylor in the OC. She is a dancer so I am going to assume she can probably sing well enough. I am thinking of the June Bride number with the singing and dancing sequence.

Oh, OP can Craig Bierko sing? Who is James Barbour?

Oh! Kristin Chenoweth! Good call!

And Ewan McGregor.

I'm sick of Zach Efron too but he'd make a good Ephraim.

There was a stage version that opened on Broadway in 1982. It starred Debby Boone as Milly and was a disastrous flop. It closed after 5 performances.

"Oh so we know French in Balham but not Latin?"

reply

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks. I had wondered. Well, then it definitely deserves a better remake.

Craig Bierko can definitely sing. He was in the Music Man revival a few years back (and now in the revival of Guys and Dolls) and James Barbour is another Broadway actor who's been in Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast, Tale of Two Cities....and other stuff I can't think of right now.

I think Anne Hathaway is too young to play Millie now. Maybe in a few years.
