Excellent Taylor Performance

Another gem of a film, ROGUE COP(1954) is further evidence of Robert Taylor's much underrated acting ability. He could act the part, talk the talk, and walk the walk. Tremendous screen presence.

John Wayne should have cast him as Colonel William Barrett Travis in his THE ALAMO(1960). Naturally, the Duke would have had to expand on the Col. Travis role to match not only historical facts, but also Robert Taylor's screen legend status.

I agree, great performance.

This is one of several films for which Taylor should at least been nominated for an Oscar.

Bob Taylor was a highly underrated actor and screen personality. If you go to the Quo Vadis message board, there are a few of his detractors who think otherwise. I certainly don't agree with them. Taylor was one of the Hollywood Dozen (i.e., archetypal leading men of Hollywood talkies). There is an IMDb list of this group.

Slazenger, I agree with you. Robert Taylor was an underrated actor. He was the last MGM contract actor, I believe. I thought he was wonderful.
