Drapes?

I liked the film and love films like this but who leaves their drapes or blinds open 24/7 for all to see in? Even the bedroom drapes were wide open all the time.

Especially a woman living alone?

reply

Oh yes, I thought of that, too....definitely a plot hole.

Oh well, still a good movie!

The stakeout apartment's drapes are also open, with the policemen just sitting there making no attempt to hide that they are staring at other apartments with binoculars. I thought it strange.

Yes, I found this a little too unlikely and a little too convenient. Ditto for Ann Stewart's drapes, though she's largely a pleasant distraction during the surveillance operation (like Miss Torso in Rear Window).

reply

also, the poor film noir lighting had a lot to do with that.

the stake out apartment was lit up that a x-mss tree.

maybe passed muster in the day...but doesn't today.
